Duilleag ùr Facebook - "Eaglais Ghàidhlig Chaluim Cille, Glaschu"

I am excited to announce that St Columba Gaelic Church now has a Gaelic language Facebook page. At a recent Session meeting it was agreed that we should develop outreach to Gaelic speakers and learners. Both the Strategic Planning and Mission Committees of the Presbytery want to work with us to do that. The problems with our church building have led to its closure, at least until an Appeal hearing on 16th June 2021. This has reinforced my conviction that our focus should be on communities that are not defined by a common meeting place but by common culture and interests. The one constant in all of this is our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, and our desire to worship and serve him. We look forward to a time when we have a church building again in which to do this, but in the meantime we use whatever means we can.

These are difficult days for the congregation of St Columba Gaelic Church, but the elders are determined that we shall come through them and continue our distinct ministry to the people of Glasgow and beyond. Whatever our personal view of Social Media, it is undeniable that many people use it, and rely on it for communicating with others and getting the latest news on their topic of interest. I warmly invite Gaelic speakers and learners to visit our new Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/EaglaisChaluimCille, to "like" it and contribute to it. Beannachdan, Melvyn
